I was able to attend the annual Photo SA tournament on October 20th at the Stinson Municipal Airport. It’s located in the south of the city near the missions and handles more of the small planes. It also has some training classes, class rooms we can use for the tournament, and even a restaurant. It was a beautiful day in October, not hotter than 90 degrees, and a few planes flew out that day. I brought my camera with the usual attachments and my lens ball (Merry Nine Photography Crystal Ball). We were also allowed to bring props and other things to add to the photograph before it’s taken, including human models. I decided to skip the props this year because I only spend more time working with them and worrying about how to compose a picture than I do making sure I’m walking around making photos. And guess what…I won two third place prizes, two second place prizes, and I even won the Grand overall photo of the whole competition, which I have included all photos below. Being the grand prize winner of the tournament will also mean that next year I will be the Grand Judge of the tournament, picking the 1st and 2nd place Grand overall photos of the 2025 competition. I will not be able to compete that year, but it’s an honor for me to do it!
Grand overall winner and 2nd place in the category of "Holding the Plane"
2nd place in the category of "Airport's Natural Enviroment"
3rd place in the category of "Color and Texture"
3rd place in the category of "Human Study"
