Update and several changes of plans later..

6/2/24

I wanted to say I’m sorry I haven’t written for a while. I thought I was going to be able to write every other week, but that didn’t work out so well.  Now, I’m going to try to write you something every month.  So this is what I’ve been doing for future plans with my art and Off Path Photos.

Plans to buy out a profitable business:  One of my artist acquaintances had plans to sell out their business to someone.  It was time for them to retire and rest.  They pressed and painted flowers and put them into beveled glass.  It sold really well as I shadowed him during one of their art shows.  However, they have decided to pull the business from the market until later.  I will be the first one they ask in the future if they sell it again.  I may have lost this option for now; however, it tickled my creative side.  I’m planning on incorporating some of their ideas, like putting wildflower behind glass or into epoxy resin.  I have been wanting to try stained glass and epoxy resin for a while as an art medium.

Expanding the business:  I recently found a new group of non-profits, Geekdom and Launch SA, that will also help me with my business.  They seem to have some creative people running around who could help.  I’m planning on sitting down sometime in June to talk with a business advisor.  I’m hoping to learn how to grow the business with my road blocks.  It sounds like they can help me do things like:  What’s the next step for me?  How do I break into certain areas of the market with things like puzzles?  How do you deal with getting companies to pay attention to a small and growing business?  What about setting up a company to make puzzles and other products right here in the USA?

And…when can I get out of the cleaning business and being a profitable artist?  I’ve spent many years praying about this.  I hope you will help me by praying too.  I want to know the next step that God wants me to take in the process and the motivation to do so.  I want to at least write to you every so often, maybe once a month to let you know what’s going on, show off new photos, or update you on what’s new with my site.
