It’s Thanksgiving time again, so what do people usually think about? Maybe lots of turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. Also, we might think about being able to sit down with the family to relax and visit, then later on taking a nap while enjoying the day off. For this blog, I would like to change the subject and reflect on what we are thankful for in our lives. Of all the bad news and complaining that I hear in today’s world, I would like to challenge you to take a week or more to find something to be thankful for the moment you complain. Of course, you can be thankful for the food and a day off, but one of the most important things that I’m thankful for is the Lord. Hebrews 13:15 says, “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.” I can honestly say that the closer I am to the Lord the more He helps me stop complaining, while being thankful for what I have. I encourage you to seek the Lord and His direction so that you can truly be thankful for everything that He has given us.
